Warblers

These dinner plates are a series based on Audubon's drawings of North American birds.  The more I looked at the images in his book, the more I was drawn to the precision of his botanical rendering--I recognized many of the plants as (in)famous weeds or flowers from my childhood.  The birds themselves have begun to take on unique personalities as I drew them on the pots--light, quick and alert.
