How to Use a Bat
What's a bat? It's one of those weird pottery words that is only used in ceramics (like grog, sieve used as a verb, bisque, etc.). A bat is a flat platform that locks onto the wheel head so you can throw large, low pieces without disturbing the shape when you remove it from the wheel.
